A quick introduction — background, training, and how tutoring sessions actually run.
I'm Ademola, the founder of Valence. Throughout high school, I found myself helping classmates understand chemistry and biology. Explaining concepts became my own version of studying — the ability to simplify a topic became my marker for real mastery of it.
Across the students I've worked with, I've seen how differently two people can struggle with the exact same subject. Some just need a confidence boost. Others need more practice, a slower walk-through of the concepts, or someone to model how to actually approach a problem. That variety is what led me to start my own agency — built around meeting each student where they are, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, and helping them grow into stronger, more independent learners.
Three ideas guide every session.
Every student is capable of reaching their academic goals. When someone is struggling with a subject, the issue is rarely intelligence — usually, the concept just hasn't been explained in a way that matches how they learn.
Tutoring is more than just teaching — it's about building confidence in students and giving them the tools they need to succeed. My goal isn't just to answer questions; it's to build the skills, advice, and strategies that support a student's education for years to come.
My approach prioritizes student participation. The relationship built in sessions gives students the comfort to ask questions and make mistakes, knowing they're supported the whole way.
Every session runs over Zoom, and the approach stays consistent regardless of subject:
